Audi A8 road test

The Audi A8 is a powerful and elegant looking car, but if you are going to describe this vehicle in a word, it would be luxurious. Audi has tried to create a machine that pairs, power with comfort, in a saloon car and from our test we would agree, any senior executive would be very pleased if this was his/her car. With prices starting at £49,975 and rising to £80,260 it may not be one of the most common cars in the UK but it will turn heads.
Already a preconceived thought on how the A8 will drive? Well get rid of it, yes this car may look big and maybe you would think a little cumbersome, well think the opposite, the A8 performs quite majestically on the open road. We tested the car on both, motorways and B-roads and the A8 proved to be much more than a motorway cruiser. It may look as ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ with its high-brow stance but this car for the size of it, handles terrifically well on B-roads. ‘Press-on’ and you will be delighted by the feedback you get from the front wheels, the handling is refreshingly surprising… in a good way. The A8 has adaptive air suspension with variable damping – this adjusts the suspension automatically when the road surface changes. Making the car a really good drive on even the most challenging roads.
